1. Definitions

We, our, us - Monopoly Run

You, your, user - a person logging on to the booking system

Support team - any member of the Monopoly Run team who helps with support

The event refers ‘The Monopoly Run’ as published on the Monopoly-Run website

An entry refers to full payment received for either an individual or combined team application

The event organiser is ‘Rotherfield District Scouts’, an accepted Charity for running Scouting Events.

Group is a Scout or Guide group that enters one or more Teams.

Team is a minimum of four and a maximum of seven persons from within a group. Each Team will need a Team Leader for the event.

Team Event Pack will be provided to each team at the event start.

‘Local Group Coordinator’ is the person registering one or more teams to the booking system. 

2. Conditions of Entry

2.1 By entering the event, all applicants agree to abide by our terms and conditions and rules as published on the Monopoly Run Website.

2.2 All participant is aware that the nature of the event is physically demanding and that by entering the event, they are confirming that they can complete the event and that the organisers will not be held responsible for any injury or illness due to their participation.

2.3 The participant waives and discharges from any liability for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft and all other foreseeable risks, claims or actions of any kind (including negligence), whatever and however occurring, which may arise, at any time, from or in connection with, directly or indirectly, their participation in the Event, the following persons or entities: The Event Organisers, Event officials and personnel, land managers and/or owners, event sponsors, volunteers, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, agents and volunteers.

2.4 The event takes place in London, an open and natural environment that holds lots of natural slip, trip and fall opportunities. The roads are open to normal traffic and footpaths to the public. You enter knowing the dangers and accept full responsibility for your action/s / yourself and those around you.  We accept NO responsibility for any loss or injury caused by entering this event.

2.5 The participant agrees to comply with all event rules published on the Monopoly-Run website and in the Team event pack.

2.6 I, as ‘Local Group Coordinator’ have read the provided ‘risk assessment template’ and have adapted where I believe appropriate to support the requirements of the team I have entered; I accept the hazards involved in the event and acknowledge that children taking part in these activities are at my risk. Although the organisers take primary responsibility for the safety of children as defined by Scout Association Child Protection Procedures, I confirm that I understand that they accept no liability to me for any loss or damage to my child or our property arising out of his/her participation, other than the organiser’s liability for causing death or personal injury by negligence.

2.7 All groups who attend the event must provide a minimum of one leader to support any young people participating. It is not expected that leaders attending have to participate, but they must be able to support their teams at the start, during and end of the day

3. Confirmation of Entry

3.1 Registration for the event is confirmed once an individual participant completes and submits the online registration form. The place is not formally confirmed until the ‘Local Group Coordinator’ has completed full payment for the group.

3.2 the entrant’s responsible for coordinating any changes via the ‘Local Group Coordinator’. The ‘Local Group Coordinator’ can add/delete or amend incorrect details. Details need to correct by the published closing date.

3.3 The Monopoly Run organisers cannot guarantee that any changes can be implemented if they are received after the event published closing date.

3.4 Refunds are not possible on spaces after the cutoff deadline.

4. Competitor Withdrawal and Transfer

We will be able to provide refunds on spaces before the cutoff deadline. After the deadline no refunds will be available.

Once full payment has been received and team participation confirmed, It is possible to substitute a participant via ‘Local Group Coordinator’ up to the closing date.  

5. Event Information:

5.1 All information relating to the event will be published on www.monopoly-run.co.uk. Any advance changes/alterations to the event will also be published on the website. It is the responsibility of ‘Local Group Coordinator’ to ensure their teams are fully aware of all information relating to the event.

5.2 We reserve the right to increase or decrease the maximum number of spaces as advertised at any time.

6. Participant Information / Photography

6.1 The participant/or guardian authorises the use of their Son/Daughter's name, picture and video along with any information provided on the event entry system to be used without payment in any broadcast, telecast, communication, promotion, or advertising. The entrant also agrees that the event organisers may use the information provided to promote future events.

7. Refusal of entry

7.1 Monopoly Run maintain the right to refuse or revoke entry to any participant or team entirely at their discretion.

8. Force Majeure

“Force Majeure” means an act of God; this may result in circumstances beyond our control that we cannot deliver an event.  Including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, wind, storm or other natural disasters; the act of any sovereign including but not limited to war, invasion, the act of foreign enemies, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, nationalization, requisition, destruction or damage to property by or under the order of any government or public or local authority or imposition of government sanction embargo or similar action; terrorism; law, judgement, order, decree, embargo, blockade, labour dispute including but not limited to strike, lockout or boycott; interruption or failure of utility service including but not limited to electric power, gas, water or telephone service; failure of the transportation of any personnel equipment, breach of contract by any essential personnel or any other matter or cause beyond the control of Monopoly Run are unable to deliver an event.  In such circumstances, competitors will not be eligible for any refunds, whether full or partial.

These terms and conditions will be dealt with under the law of England and Wales.
